Welcome to Fuji Love

· 10.March.2015

I have been photographing for the last 14 years. I travelled around the globe using cameras of all possible brands. Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Panasonic… I am sure I am forgetting some of them. And then, in 2013 the X100S made its way into my hands. I used it for a couple of months and… sold it again. I don’t exactly know why. I actually don’t really understand this decision of my own till today. The moment I sold it I knew I did something wrong.

A couple of months later another X100S was back in my bag. Later on, one by one, X-E2, X-T1 and X-100T joined my Fuji “collection”. And a couple of wonderful lenses. XF 23mm f/1.4, XF 35mm f/1.4, XF 10-24mm f/4, XF 56mm f/1.2.

I needed a bigger bag. A bigger bag, which was still… so small!

Fuji cameras are small. Fuji cameras are light. Fuji cameras are fun to use and produce technically excellent images. But the thing that fascinates me the most about them is not possible to explain.

They make me a better photographer.

What is it about them that makes me feel so good? I really, honestly don’t know. I think it is some kind of mystery and, to be frank, I would really like it to stay this way. There is something about their character, about their ordinary and unobtrusive nature. Their simplicity makes me concentrate on what it all should be about: on photography. There are moments when I feel that the camera itself becomes a part of the image I am creating. It’s almost like the camera is co-creating the image with me, consciously participating in the process.

That’s why I decided to launch FUJILOVE. I feel emotionally attached to these cameras and it’s something I have never felt before. I know, it may sound a bit idealistic, maybe even childish. But… who cares. As photographers we should always stay like children: open for new, fascinated with the unknown, hungry for adventure and ready to explore.

If you are visiting this page and reading it right now, it means you exactly know what I mean and most probably you are experiencing similar feelings.

Let’s enjoy our Fuji X journey and let’s make www.fujilove.com a place we all exchange our experiences and photographic discoveries.

My goal is to regularly provide you with the most valuable and relevant Fuji X-related content. I am open for suggestions and ideas. I want FUJILOVE to be a place where also you – the readers – have your say.
