Hello FujiLovers! Issue no. 88 of FujiLove Magazine has arrived with a whole fresh batch of wonderful articles for you to enjoy. Subscribers, head to the FujiLove Subscriber Area.
If you are not a subscriber yet, make sure you join thousands of Fujifilm X photographers from around the globe and get access not only to monthly editions of FujiLove Magazine (includes our Gear Talk supplement), but also access to our FujiLove Lens Guides by Jonas Rask and Dylan Goldby, Office Hours video recordings with Rico Pfirstinger where he answers popular Fujifilm technical questions and more.
Our cover contributor for this month is Mio Monasch, who gives us an inside look into a road trip he took with the X-H2S and the XF150-600mmF5.6-8 to Southern California to capture some images and put the camera through its paces ahead of its official release in March 2022.
Take Kayo brings us his latest instalment of Take’s Corner, where he discusses the nuances of the answer to a question that every FujiLover has probably asked themselves at least once: “Should I upgrade my Fujifilm camera?”.
Molly Kate, meanwhile, explains why the X-E4 paired with the XF27mmF2.8 was the perfect gear combination for capturing candid, documentary-style images of La Feria de Abril, one of the largest festivals in Spain. Next up is Martin Hülle with this month’s photo essay entitled ‘The Land of Maybe’, which captures the beauty of the landscape of the Faroe Islands.
As usual, we also have our monthly ‘From the Feed’ feature, where we’re sharing four popular images from #myfujilove on Instagram, posted by Thomas Krimmer, Paul Stewart, Anghel Rusu and Maksim Robotov. In our FujiLove interview for this month, Cosmo Lawson chats to Stephanie Baxter about his short journey into photography so far and how his work has been influenced by his passion for sci-fi and gritty movies.
Beginning a new six-part article series for us is Karen Hutton, who is seeking to help us think outside the box of traditional landscape photography and encourage us to have fun in the process.
We’re also thrilled to bring you our ‘Gear Talk’ section of FujiLove Magazine, starting with Rico Pfirstinger, who is delivering his next instalment in his camera settings series that shows you how to best set up and make the most of your X cameras while avoiding common pitfalls along the way, this month taking a look at the buttons and dials settings in the SETUP menu. Next up is Piet Van den Eynde with a look at what’s new in Photoshop 24.5 and the public beta 24.6, while Lee Varis rounds off his two-part series on A.I. image enhancement software techniques when it comes to editing noisy images. Rounding off the issue is Dylan Goldby, who shares some techniques for working in aperture-priority mode in fast-moving shooting situations.
Happy reading!
