Our cover contributor for this month is Dylan Goldby, who walks us through his approach to choosing lenses for his photography, with a particular focus on portraiture. He discusses the pitfalls of labelling a lens a ‘portrait lens’ and how we should approach portraiture before sharing with us some of his most-used lenses for this genre.

Take Kayo brings us his latest instalment of Take’s Corner, where he reflects on the popularity of the X100VI since its release just over a month ago and considers whether it might be time for Fujifilm to think about offering some different versions of the X100 at differing price points.

David Roberts takes us back to the very beginning when it comes to Fujifilm’s lens offerings, with a fond look at the original XF lens trio: the XF18mmF2, XF35mmF1.4 and XF60mmF2,4. Meanwhile, Robert Birnbach delivers this month’s photo essay entitled ‘The Silence Between: Photographs of Music in the Moment’, which captures in black-and-white beauty the idea from Debussy that “it’s the silence between the notes that holds the key to all music. Next up is Jasmina Schmitt, who takes us with her on a journey of self-discovery from her home country of Austria to Latin America, where she has been able to find a greater sense of creative freedom.

As usual, we also have our monthly ‘From the Feed’ feature, where we’re sharing four popular images from #myfujilove on Instagram, posted by Noël Bellotto, Nick Sullivan,, Dustin L. Waits and Yoshimichi Ito

In our FujiLove interview for this month, Ljerka Kukurin is chatting to Stephanie Baxter about how splitting her time between Norway and Croatia affords her wonderful photographic opportunities, and the overlap between her nature and ‘human’ photography. Continuing his article series, ‘The Growing Pains of Photography’, Ibarionex Perello takes us with him as he challenges himself to photograph a music gig, tackling the difficulties of shooting conditions in a situation such as this and sharing what he learnt along the way.

We’re also thrilled to bring you our ‘Gear Talk’ section of FujiLove Magazine, starting with Rico Pfirstinger, who continues his article series all about how to expose correctly. Next up, Piet Van den Eynde walks us through what to expect from the newly released DxO PureRAW 4, while Lee Varis rounds of his two-part series on extreme processing techniques, this time showing us how to use AI to re-render an image!

Happy reading!
